I ran into Herman and Helen at the Chicago Historical Society a few years ago -- 2 or 3. I don't remember the conversation, only that they were both as dear as always. Herman was having trouble walking, but wasn't complaining, just determined. At one of Herman's parties I thanked him for the invitation knowing that he has a long list to choose from. He said, "It's always nice to have a beautiful woman around. It helps." That was very sweet. Anonymous |
